In the last week Wired has been invited to seven event industry showcases and networking evenings, including everything from venues to teambuilding activities. Sure for a second we are intrigued and excited but in the back of our minds we remember that it is likely to be the same old style of networking event with the same repetitive format. However we do like a free glass of fizz and a dainty canapé as much as the next person so this combined with the curiosity to find out about new ventures and meet new people make us the ideal target for serial showcasers - but from now on we want to attend something different rather than be held against our will at another sales pitch.

Companies are continually looking for methods to show prospective clients what they can offer and network nights and showcases are the latest craze in how to do this. They give businesses an opportunity to get a proactive audience, comprised of their target market, in one room, all ready to watch, listen and learn from them– this is an opportunity not be wasted.
