Building Launch
Brief: Develop and produce a unique concept for a building launch in the City of London; one that tempts a notoriously difficult to impress audience, whilst showing off an exciting new development.
Solution: Our solution was to create an event that brought back laughter to the City, an event where guests could come and relax for the evening. With this in mind we designed two main areas to the event – a main reception area that reflected a funky hotel bar, allied with a comedy club right next door. The bar offered a unique style of service by allowing guests to pick their own beers from the big ice buckets if they wanted, with assistance from bar staff as needed. The comedy club was branded as The Comedy Club at 133 due to its location (building number 133) – and was transformed from an ordinary office into a low-lit red draped den complete with stage and brick effect backdrop.
Results: The client was blown away with the transformation of the space and the overall event branding. Wired secured quick-fire TV comic Tim Vine as the comedian for the night, and he managed to keep a full house of guests laughing from start to finish. With the addition of a prize draw for a three-night trip to New York organised by Wired, the client felt that the event achieved real impact on all levels.
